Biography Fair Timeline Template
04/18/2013
Today in Social Studies, we practiced creating a timeline together. We talked about the importance of an accurate scale in a timeline. We will work on timelines in class tomorrow. Some students would like to create their timeline in a Word Document. To help, I have created a template that can be saved and changed to share information about your Biography Fair individual. You can download this file below.

Colonial America Test and Field Trip
12/03/2012
The Colonial America test will be on Wednesday. You can download a study guide below.
We will be going on a field trip to the Carlos Museum on Friday. Buses will leave the school around 9:00 am and will return by 1:10 pm. We will eat lunch AFTER we return to the school, so we recommend bringing a snack to eat just before we leave at 9:00 am. If you will purchase a sack lunch from the cafeteria, please let your homeroom teacher know on December 4th so we ensure our cafeteria staff has prepared enough lunches for our entire grade level.

Reading Logs
10/16/2012
We are trying something new for the next nine weeks of Reading class! For reading homework, students will be focusing on their independent reading. Each night, 4th graders will read for 20 to 30 minutes. Students can read any book or magazine of their choice, as long as it is on their reading level. Students will record the title of what they are reading in their weekly Reading Log, and parents or guardians should sign the log each night.
The purpose of these Reading Logs is to help students become even better readers as they spend more time reading on-level books. You can download a copy of the Reading Log below.

The Water Cycle
09/16/2012
We finished our Native American unit and are ready to start our first Science units - The Water Cycle and Weather! We will begin studying the water cycle on Monday, September 17th. To read more about these units, click on the Science/SS tab above.
Over the next few days, we will learn more about why the water cycle is important to our lives. We will also study how interruptions in the water cycle can cause problems for people around the word when we complete The Water Project webquest. This project will not only help us learn about the water cycle, but it will give us a chance to get involved in our global community and support a great cause!
